ตะกร้าไม้ 

Wooden Basket

เป็นงานที่ตอนแรก อาจารย์ให้นักเรียนทุกคนช่วยกันทำเพื่อใช้เรียนทำสีกับวิทยากรที่จะเชิญมาวันสุดสัปดาห์ ทำทั้งหมด 20 ใบค่อนข้างต้องแข่งกับเวลา หลักๆ ฉันทำในส่วนการใช้เราเตอร์แท่นเจาะรูที่ใช้ประกอบหูหิ้วและช่วยคนอื่นขัด ประกอบชิ้นงาน กับทาเคลือบผิว งานชิ้นนี้ประกอบด้วยการเอาแผ่นที่เป็นฐานกับหูหิ้วเสียบร่องของแผ่นหัวท้าย (dado) จากนั้นก็ใส่แผ่นข้างด้านละ 2 แผ่นระหว่างแผ่นหัวท้ายแล้วยึดด้วยตะปูลม ขั้นตอนดูเหมือนจะง่ายแต่ทำจริงยากตรงที่ถ้ายิงตะปูลมไม่ดีมีสิทธิ์ทะลุหรือไม้แตกแถมบางชิ้นยังมีปัญหาแผ่นฐานกับหูหิ้วไม่ลงรูเดือยกับร่องที่เจาะไว้อีก นับเป็นงานที่ฝึกความใจเย็นพอควร 

This was a project Teacher had all students help make to use for a finishing workshop with a guest lecturer coming on the weekend. We made 20 baskets in total, so it was a race against time. My main tasks were using the router table to cut holes for the handles, helping others sand, assembling, and coating. This piece involved inserting the base and handle panels into grooves (dado joints) on the head and tail boards, then inserting two side slats on each side and securing them with pneumatic nails (air gun). It sounds simple, but the tricky part was shooting the nails; if done poorly, the nails would shoot through the side or split the wood. Plus, some pieces had issues where the base or handle didn't fit the routed grooves. It was a good exercise in patience.

สรุป ตะกร้า 20 ใบเสร็จทันกำหนด แต่ตอนถึงวันที่วิทยากรมาจริงไม่ได้ใช้ ใช้ไม้แผ่นในการเรียนทำสีแทน 

Conclusion: All 20 baskets were finished on time. However, when the lecturer actually arrived, he didn’t use them. He used flat wooden boards to teach the finishing techniques instead.
