Bunch of snakes (on Medusa's head) for you! \o/ The upcoming new year is the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese zodiac.  When I was initially planning my New Year's card, I thought about drawing the 'White Snake Lady' from the Chinese 'Legend of the White Snake' but I worried that it would require too much interpretation and wouldn't immediately convey the idea of the Year of the Snake at first glance. (My skills probably aren't up to par.) So, who else would be suitable as a symbol of the Year of the Snake? Of course, it has to be "Medusa," the woman with a whole garden of snakes for hair! WAHAHA!   Merry Xmas again, especially to R1999 and the 37 fans! This gag popped into my head while I was away from home on Christmas Day, and I didn't want to lose it.   She has a hundred eyes but she still can't see. After finishing Patch 2.1, this was the first image that popped into my head. But lately I've been out of the house too often so I haven't had time to sit down and finish this drawing. It's almost the end of the year by the time I'll be able to complete it, bummer... Notably, the series boldly depicted a clear romantic relationship between Vi and Cait, even including love scenes (and they were done beautifully). After watching the 1st season, I was worried that the creators would use their relationship as 'queerbaiting' (luring viewers with LGBT undertones without confirming the characters' identities). But after finishing Season 2, it's clear that their relationship is integral to the plot, confirming its authenticity and defying any anti-shipper theories. (Congratulations to the #CaitVi shippers!) Beyond the romantic relationship, the creators' decision to portray Vi as a butch lesbian is a breath of fresh air.
