Happy Snake Year 2025! Bunch of snakes (on Medusa's head) for you! \o/
The upcoming new year is the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese zodiac. When I was initially planning my New Year's card, I thought about drawing the 'White Snake Lady' from the Chinese 'Legend of the White Snake' but I worried that it would require too much interpretation and wouldn't immediately convey the idea of the Year of the Snake at first glance. (My skills probably aren't up to par.)
So, who else would be suitable as a symbol of the Year of the Snake? Of course, it has to be "Medusa," the woman with a whole garden of snakes for hair! WAHAHA! (please excuse my weird sense of humor).
I wanted to draw Medusa and littleseal came up with the pic concept. Medusa presenting a golden apple as a New Year's gift to a white owl (a symbol of Athena) is a symbol of reconciliation. It signifies that Medusa has let go of her resentment towards Athena, and they are both ready to coexist peacefully.
Our world today is full of conflict. I hope the goodness that still exists from all corners of the world, both big and small, can come together and help change our world for the better.
I wish everyone good health, prosperity, and a fulfilling life in the upcoming new year and forevermore.

ปีใหม่ที่กำลังจะมาถึงคือปีงูตามนักษัตรจีน ตอนวางแผนจะทำการ์ดปีใหม่ตอนแรกว่าจะวาดนางพญางูขาวแต่กลัวว่าจะต้องตีความเยอะและไม่สามารถสื่อถึงความเป็นปีงูได้ตั้งแต่แว่บแรกที่เห็น (ความสามารถฉันคงไม่ถึงเองล่ะ)
งั้นมีใครเหมาะที่จะเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของปีงูอีกมั้ย? แน่นอนว่าต้อง "เมดูซา" ผู้หญิงที่มีงูทั้งสวนเป็นผมนั่นไง! วะฮะฮ่า! (โปรดอย่าถือสามุกตลกฝืดของฉัน)
ฉันอยากวาดเมดูซาแล้วแมวน้ำน้อยก็ช่วยคิดคอนเซปต์ของรูปนี้ขึ้น เมดูซามอบของล้ำค่าอย่างแอปเปิ้ลทองคำเป็นของขวัญปีใหม่แก่นกฮูกขาว (สัญลักษณ์ของอาเทน่า) คือสัญญาณแห่งการคืนดี สื่อถึงการที่เมดูซาเลิกถือโทษโกรธอาเทน่าและทั้งคู่พร้อมจะอยู่ร่วมกันอย่างสันติ
โลกเราทุกวันนี้เต็มไปด้วยความขัดแย้ง ฉันหวังว่าความดีงามที่ยังคงมีอยู่จากทั่วทุกมุมโลกไม่ว่าใหญ่เล็กจะสามารถหลอมรวมและช่วยกันเปลี่ยนโลกเราไปในทางที่ดีขึ้น
ฉันขออวยพรให้ทุกคนมีสุขภาพแข็งแรง มั่งคั่ง และใช้ชีวิตได้อย่างเต็มที่ในปีใหม่ที่จะมาถึงนี้และตลอดไป
