Happy New Year 2026! We wish you health, happiness, prosperity, and to living life to the fullest in 2026 and every year after that!
Since this is the Year of the Horse, famous horses like Pegasus, Unicorns, or Red Hare from the Three Kingdoms usually come to mind. However, using those for a New Year’s card felt a bit too ordinary, so this year I chose to draw a 'Durong Paksin' - a creature from the Himmapan Forest that resembles a Pegasus. I dressed her in a traditional Kor Krachao shirt and Chong Kraben (Thai traditional lower-body garment), riding Ma Kan Kluay (a banana rib horse ) to give her a Thai theme,
As for the text "มั่งมี ศรีสุข" (Wealth & Happiness) on the victory flag, I initially planned to use a computer font. But since 'Happy New Year' is already typed, I decided to handwrite the Thai text instead. (If it looks a bit crooked, just pretend because it’s fluttering in the wind! lol)
Last year brought many unexpected changes for littleseal and me, which slowed down our comics and plans. These changes were unexpected, but we have to accept them and adapt. For the upcoming year, we aim to gradually release our pending works - including unfinished comics, articles, stories from my woodworking class, and more. Thank you all for your patience and for staying with us on this journey.
We, devilray and littleseal, sincerely hope to continue this journey with you in the year ahead and for many years to come. Alright... let’s start the New Year with brightness and move forward together!
สวัสดีปีใหม่! ขอให้ทุกท่านแข็งแรง สุขภาพดี มีความสุข ความเจริญรุ่งเรือง และได้ใช้ชีวิตอย่างเต็มที่ในปีที่กำลังจะมาถึงและในทุกๆ ปีตลอดไป!
เพราะนี่คือปีม้า พูดถึงม้าที่มีชื่อเสียงก็ต้องนึกถึง "เพกาซัส" หรือ "ยูนิคอร์น" ที่เป็นม้าในตำนานฝรั่งหรือ "ม้าเซ็กเทาว์" ในสามก๊ก แต่นำม้าเหล่านั้นมาวาดการ์ดปีใหม่ก็คงรู้สึกธรรมดาเกินไป ปีนี้ฉันเลยเลือกวาด "ดุรงค์ปักษิณ" ที่เป็นสัตว์ในป่าหิมพานต์รูปร่างคล้ายเพกาซัสแล้วให้ใส่เสื้อคอกระเช้ากับโจงกระเบนขี่ม้าก้านกล้วยเป็นธีมแบบไทยๆ ข้อความ "มั่งมี ศรีสุข" บนธงชัยตอนแรกว่าจะใช้ฟอนต์ทำแต่คิดว่าไหนๆ ข้อความ Happy New Year ก็ต้องใช้ฟอนต์ทำอยู่แล้วตรงนี้เลยเขียนด้วยลายมือแทน (ดูเบี้ยวๆ ก็ให้นึกว่ามันพริ้วตามธงแล้วกัน ฮา...)
ปีที่ผ่านมามีความเปลี่ยนแปลงเกิดขึ้นกับฉันและแมวน้ำน้อยมากมายทำให้ไม่ได้ใช้เวลาวาดการ์ตูนและปฏิบัติตามตามแผนงานที่วางไว้ได้อย่างเต็มที่ ความเปลี่ยนแปลงเหล่านี้เป็นเรื่องนอกเหนือความคาดหมายแต่ในเมื่อเกิดขึ้นแล้วก็ต้องน้อมรับและปรับตัว ในปีหน้าที่กำลังจะมาถึงพวกเราจะพยายามเข็นงานที่ค้างๆ ไว้ทยอยอัพออกมาให้มีความเคลื่อนไหวบ้าง ทั้งส่วนการ์ตูนที่เขียนค้างไว้ บทความ เรื่องเล่าประสบการณ์เรียนงานไม้ ฯลฯ ขอบคุณทุกท่านที่อุตส่าห์รอคอยอย่างใจเย็นและเดินทางร่วมกันมาจนถึงบัดนี้
พวกเรา (กระเบนและแมวน้ำ) หวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าจะได้เดินทางร่วมกับพวกท่านต่อในปีหน้าและปีต่อๆ ไป เอาล่ะ... เรามาเริ่มต้นปีใหม่พร้อมกับความสดใสและก้าวหน้าไปพร้อมๆ กันเถอะ!
